What skin rejuvenation means here

Skin rejuvenation is not one procedure or a fixed package. It describes an assessment-led approach to concerns such as pigmentation, redness, texture, hydration and overall skin quality.

Dr Wong identifies the concern you would like to prioritise before discussing which options, if any, are appropriate. Normal changes in appearance do not necessarily require treatment.

How suitable options are assessed

Dr Wong begins with the concerns you want to prioritise and a review of your skin and procedure history. The aim is to explain appropriate options, not to select a procedure from a fixed menu.

Your goals, expectations and preferred recovery time help guide the discussion. A staged approach, a different type of care or no procedure may be appropriate.

  • Your main skin concern and priorities
  • Skin condition, tone and sensitivities
  • Previous procedures and reactions
  • Current skincare, medicines and relevant medical history
  • Recent sun exposure and pigment history
  • Expected recovery, alternatives and personal preferences

Approaches discussed after assessment

W Medical Aesthetics uses different approaches according to the concern being assessed. Each has its own role, limitations and risks.

Availability and suitability need confirmation with the clinic. The following options are not interchangeable or a recommended package.

BBL HEROic

A light-based procedure that may be considered for selected pigmentation, redness and uneven tone. Skin assessment and the proposed area guide the settings and suitability.

Tetra Pro CO2 Laser

A resurfacing procedure considered for selected acne scars or texture concerns. It involves recovery and risks that need discussion before you decide whether to proceed.

Morpheus8

Combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy. It may be discussed for selected texture or firmness concerns, with individual assessment of the skin and underlying anatomy.

Dermalux LED Light Therapy

A non-invasive option that may be considered alone or as supportive care within a broader plan. It does not replace assessment of an undiagnosed skin condition.

W Signature Facials and skincare

Professional skincare and facial massage may be selected according to concerns such as dehydration or congestion. Reactive skin may need a gentler approach.

Preparing for any procedure

The consultation covers expectations, alternatives, risks, aftercare and fees. The agreed plan is confirmed only after assessment and an opportunity to ask questions.

Expected timeline and maintenance

The timeline varies with the procedure and individual skin response. Changes associated with resurfacing or collagen-remodelling procedures may develop gradually rather than immediately.

The number of appointments, their spacing and whether maintenance is appropriate are discussed individually. Review considers both response and any unwanted effects before another step is planned.

  • Visible change is not guaranteed.
  • Different concerns may require different timelines.
  • Recovery depends on the procedure, area and individual response.
  • Appropriate skincare and sun protection remain important between appointments.

Downtime, risks and aftercare

Depending on the procedure, redness, swelling, sensitivity, bruising or pigment changes may occur. More intensive resurfacing generally involves a longer recovery period.

Invasive or energy-based procedures can also involve infection, burns, scarring or other tissue injury. RF microneedling has been associated with serious complications, including unwanted fat loss and nerve injury. The relevant risks must be discussed for the proposed procedure and area.

Contact the clinic about unexpected or worsening symptoms. Seek urgent medical care for severe symptoms.

Aftercare is procedure-specific

  • Follow your individual recovery instructions.
  • Cleanse gently and use products as directed.
  • Avoid picking, rubbing or unnecessary exfoliation.
  • Ask when to restart active skincare and makeup.
  • Use appropriate broad-spectrum sun protection and avoid tanning.
  • Allow recovery time before important events or further procedures.

Options and individual costs

Costs depend on the procedure, treatment area and plan discussed after assessment. Ask what is included, whether consultation or review fees apply and what alternatives are available.

No fixed number of appointments is appropriate for everyone. You can decide not to proceed after discussing your options.

Skin rejuvenation questions

Which option may suit my skin?

The discussion depends on the main concern, skin type, previous procedures and preferred downtime. Dr Wong assesses these factors before recommending whether any procedure is appropriate.

Which option has the least downtime?

Selected facials and LED generally involve less recovery than intensive resurfacing or RF microneedling. Recovery still varies by procedure, area and individual response.

How many appointments might be suitable?

There is no standard number for everyone. Any proposed course depends on the concern and procedure, and should be reviewed according to your response and recovery.

How much do these procedures cost in Adelaide?

Fees depend on the procedure, area and plan discussed after assessment. The clinic can explain relevant charges before you decide whether to proceed.
